The Navy's Here!

I'd been meaning to add some naval gunners to my AWI collection since the 1980s and finally got round to it last year - the guns are Hinchliffe, gabions by Ironclad, and the Jack Tars are converted from mostly Hinchliffe bits (but win absolutely nothing if you can spot the interlopers from East Yorks).

Very nice. Now I have to blame you for getting me back into shiny- see "shinyloo" posts on my blog and of course the shiny ECW collection you sold me But now I shine even further. I'm slowly re-touching and adding to my own shiny AWI collection which are mostly Stadden. It progresses slowly but- in between other projects- progresses.. And yes it is all your fault !
Glad to be persuaded mind- thank
Andy

These are very nice indeed. In my opinion the old Hinchcliffe figures, when expertly painted like yours, lose absolutely nothing in comparison with modern sculpts. In fact you have to think that their animation and character far exceed most of the. Great looking figures Doug.

Beautiful paint job. I dont know how you achieve the paint effect but it looks brilliant. Well done.

Enjoyed a good rummage around your excellent blog. Shiny ones are good but too late for me.
