The Brigadier's Willies

A few 30mm 18th c. subjects from the legendary Peter Young's collection. I think the majority of these are Suren conversions (though not being an expert in vintage 30mm figures i stand to be corrected) and, as the Brigadier apparently knew and wargamed with Ted Suren, then perhaps they are the work of the master himself...?

I've had these pictures for years, they are not mine, and i can't remember where i nicked them from (though i think i might have taken them from the site of the auction house that was selling them at the time).

These are wonderful! Any idea what happened to Brigadier Young's collection? I've heard vague rumblings that it was sold to a collector in the USA, but nothing more specific.

Best Regards,

Stokes

Lovely and shiny- I have a few of the old willies myself including Cardinal Richeleau and some shiny pikemen. I fell a bit more shinyness coming on....

Good to see you back and posting more lovely shiny pics. Those figures are exquisite, no other word for them.

Gents - thanks, it's good to be back after 3 months working up in 'Auld Reekie'.

Stokes - it depends how you define Young's collection...i too have heard the rumour that his final collection went stateside after his death, but as PY apparently sold almost as often as he bought my guess is that there are ex-Young collection pieces in numerous collections across the globe. BTW, i think you'd really enjoy Garratt's book.

cheers all.
