Wargamers' Holidays
Some early publicity for the original WHC as Mil Mod's chief scribbler (and Roy Orbison tribute act) Ken Jones pays a visit to Peter Gilder. From Mil Mod May 1980.
Blimey, I remember reading this! I also remember Peter Gilder and Frank Hinchliffe giving a talk about their new company to the Manchester Area Wargames Society and discussing the (then) revolutionary shading technique. Time for my Horlicks, I feel old . . .

what a wonderful find. A joy to read.
Book me in please...
Great read Doug, the original periscope is in existance , a bit batterede and held together by tape - and it still has the same effect with people!
Congratulations Mr. Siggins, you have been chosen as a recipient of the Liebster award!

:O(
I remember reading it as well in 1980.
After reading it I went there for the first year and every year until 1989.
There was a pull out in the magazine as well.
I have that I believe in my parents house, I remember seeing it a few years ago.
Next time I visit there I will look for it.
